Animsquad’s Masterclass with Zach Parrish and Brent Homman

AnimSquad is offering a download of one of there Masterclasses with Zach Parrish and Brent Homman for $299. This Masterclass is 17hrs of goodness. Many of you that follow this blog know of Zach from my interview, so I know there are some great things going on in there. If you head on over to the site you can check out there super appealing rigs in that Disney style and it makes sense since most of the instructors are at Disney. There are some rig demos and even a blog to follow. Here is a snippet from the Masterclass.

Great stuff!
Enjoy!

AnimSchool's Scout

AnimSchool’s Scout

Some images of AnimSchool‘s new character Scout. He looks great and adds a new level of creativity to the school. As always with Dave Gallagher, Scout looks really appealing and I know from interviewing that he always strives to hit the appeal bar.

A couple of quotes from the AnimSchool Blog:

“Appeal and hyper-expression are our driving passions and why people are drawn to AnimSchool,” founder Dave Gallagher said. The Scout character has been painstakingly developed to reach artfully designed poses, and allow for a myriad of variations in expression.
“That kind of quality and attention to detail are a part of everything we do at AnimSchool. It’s what sets us apart and gives our students the edge when it comes to appeal and entertainment.”

So much appeal when I first saw him I instantly started to think about Disney‘s Lady and the Tramp.

Enjoy!
Thanks Dave!

A couple of Great Podcast: ParaNorman and Tangled

A couple of Great Podcast: ParaNorman and Tangled

Animation Podcast has just put up the “Unofficial Commentary” for Tangled. There has been a bit of a hiatus from the podcast over there and because of your the readers bugging Clay Kaytis every time you see him about when there will be a new podcast, he sat down the Disney Animators for commentary on Tangled. The idea is to sit down with your copy of Tangled and listen to the podcast as you watch…pretty sweet.

And you can also head on over to Speaking of Animation and check out a podcast all about ParaNorman. They got a chance to sit down with co-directors Chris Butler, Sam Fell, and Lead Animator/Producer Travis Knight, to discuss being an Animator and some of the creative process behind Story and Character.

So enjoy these two different Podcast! Great stuff!

Animation Workflow: Joe Bowers

Disney animator Joe Bowers has done an interview where he breaks down some shots he did on Disney‘s Tangled and Bolt. He breaks down everything from timing and spacing to squash and stretch. Some really amazing tips from a good animator. Plenty of nuggets in there from his time with Glen Keane as well.
